Inspiration
We were inspired by the fact that we did not like to sleep in the dark. We decided to make a nightlight that could turn on and off automatically and alert parents when the child is sleeping or awake.
What it does
It can turn on and off automatically. It can also play music to put the child to sleep, let the child alert the parents that he or she wants the parent, let the parents know whether their child is sleeping or awake, and let the parent send an alarm to wake the child up.
How we built it
We used Makecode for the coding. We also used two Microbits, some cardboard, crafting materials and a PIR sensor.
Challenges we ran into
We had to troubleshoot after making the code as there were some flaws in it. We also had to find a way to place the child's Microbit so that the PIR sensor could record the child but not get disconnected from the Microbit.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Completing the recording and the project!!
What we learned
We learnt how to connect a PIR sensor with the microbit and how to code the for PIR sensor.
What's next for Micro-Lit
We could put a variety of songs and randomly choose one. We could also figure out a way to get the signal from the child to the parent saying that the child wants the parent quicker.
Built With
- makecode
- microbit
