Inspiration

I got inspired by how many people still struggle with basic digital tasks like making an email, using Google Docs, or online payments. I wanted to build something simple and fun that teaches these skills in small steps.

What it does

Micro-Courses is a platform that teaches digital skills through short, 5–10 minute lessons. Each lesson has text, images/videos, and a quick quiz. Users can track their progress, earn badges, and even access content offline.

How we built it

I built the frontend using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for lesson cards, quizzes.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was making lessons engaging without making them too long. Another challenge was figuring out how to allow offline access while keeping the platform lightweight.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud that the project actually feels simple and usable. The gamification with badges and progress tracking really makes it feel less like “studying” and more like a fun experience.

What we learned

I learned how small design decisions, like adding quick quizzes or visual badges, can completely change how people enjoy learning. I also got hands-on with Firebase and realized how useful it can be for quick prototypes.

What's next for Micro-courses

Next, I want to add more skill bundles (Beginner → Intermediate → Advanced), better offline support, and maybe even a certificate system so learners can share their progress.
