The Inspo

With a team member working directly in retail pharmacy, a large problem we identified was patient adherence. Patient adherence refers to how patients continue to take their medications (How consistent are they with picking up refills, taking medications, etc.). Non-adherence leads to disease progression, preventable hospital visits and more. Common barriers seen with patients everyday that contributed to this problem would be something as simple as forgetfulness or even cost of medication. This app attempts to address these challenges by building an interface that allows users to track medications while keeping track of what’s been spent and if Rx saving alternatives are available.

How It Got Done

With some elbow grease and a bit of bickering, the team utilizes Node.js and Express for backend, Figma design converted to CSS, HTML, and Javascript for the front end with Icons/mascots hand drawn digitally. We used a stock image of background found online.

What was learned

Off the bat, two team members came into this with no prior experience. They were able to learn how to convert Figma Designs to HTML and CSS, ultimately building the confidence to fiddle around with it. Beyond the scope of just coding, the team learned effective ways of working together after starting with nearly nothing.
