Inspiration

We noticed that while there are many apps for dog care, cat owners are often left with spreadsheets, sticky notes, or just vibes. We wanted to create a space where cat parents could manage their furry chaos with structure and love — from feeding routines to vaccine reminders, all in one place. Thus, MiaoPlace was born: a cozy, smart homebase for every kind of cat and their devoted human.

What it does

MiaoPlace lets cat owners register and manage multiple cats with ease. Each cat gets a personal dashboard to track their health, set food and vaccine reminders, monitor growth, and receive AI-powered recommendations. From customized meal tips to photo timelines and mood logs, MiaoPlace helps cat parents stay on top of their care — without the overwhelm.

How we built it

We built MiaoPlace using Bolt.new, with OpenAI’s GPT-4o API powering the smart features like food suggestions and mood summaries. We structured the app to support multiple cat profiles under one user account, added dynamic reminder functionality, and designed an interface inspired by soft pastels and cozy UX. Every feature was built mobile-first with cat lovers in mind.

Challenges we ran into

• Getting the sign-in button to appear and function consistently across devices delayed testing
  
• Encountered issues connecting our custom domain, which slowed down deployment
  
• Balancing fast iteration with Bolt’s visual builder while integrating third-party logic
  
• Ensuring the UI remained clean and lovable even as new features stacked up

What we learned

We learned how to balance utility and cuteness, how to shape an AI experience that feels emotionally intelligent, and how to prioritize the right features when building something fast but lovable. We also learned that “soft meow on button click” is a must-have.

What's next for Miao Place

• Launch mobile app version with offline reminders
