Inspiration

Our inspiration comes from one of our group members who wants to be an accountant when older and wanted to experience what auditing is like. We found that all three of us had a baseline knowledge of accounting and auditing and wanted to use that knowledge to create something.

What it does

The web app uses AI to comb through reports and flags any mistakes there may be. The flags include a suggestion for what is believed to be the correct answer. The user has the option to ignore or accept the suggestion. All of the calculations are done by code, to eliminate the possibility of error.

How we built it

We built the web app through Claude AI, using skills, agents, and MCPs to work collaboratively to produce the final product.

Challenges we ran into

A big challenge we ran into was finding real-world data. We designed the web app to read through monthly financial reports. However, typically, monthly financial reports are not public and require access. We spent a good chunk of our time trying to find a real error a company made that also had public financial records available.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One accomplishment we are proud of is our landing page. It took us an hour or two to design and then build the page, and we are proud of how it turned out. We are also proud of finding real-world data. As I said above, it was difficult to find that data, so we were very proud.

What we learned

We learned more about the tools that Claude AI can provide us. Before this, we were users of Claude but never used it for anything other than school.

What's next for Tally- Eddie Lily Dua

If we had more time, the main thing we would have done is made it possible for companies to submit quarterly and annual reports. We stayed with the monthly because of the data the project provided.
