Inspiration
In accordance with Abbvie's vision statement we saw an opportunity to produce a product which would make the lives of our patients easier, healthier, and happier. Patients suffering Parkinson's Disease are often reliant upon doctor visits and consultations in order to determine dosage.
Function
Our device monitors the stages of motor fluctuations a patient experiences throughout the course of a day and uses a deep learning model with the collected data which the physician can use to help produce dosage recommendations and treatment plans.
How It's Made
- Constructed a wearable monitor, which can be fitted to either the wrist or ankle, to monitor motor fluctuations
- Developed a neural network to produce a data model to help determine dosage recommendations
