Inspiration
Having had experiences in the Museum of Ghana and other tourist sites, having an educator background, and a new found passion for Augmented reality, I decided to combine all these experiences in creating a User Interface of what I feel might help tourists and educators/ explorers see the world in a different and immersive way.
What it does
My project if advanced from just UI to the actual coded app, it will serve as an augmented reality app for tourists and learners to explore the world and artifacts experientially.
How we built it
After conceiving the idea, I designed it on paper and I had several mockup sketches. Knowing well that the time for the hackathon is short, I had to look for inspiration using an AI-powered design tool( Uizard). After keying in my prompt, it generated 3 screens and viola, and I used that as my starting point.
I then saved them as SVG and exported them from Uizard to Figma. From iterations etc, I settled on designing an additional 9 screens in Figma, did some prototyping, took screenshots of my AR models created in Modelviewer and uploaded them to Figma, and tweaked them for the education frame.
Challenges we ran into
Some icons and images getting missing and not available with some Figma plugins. Deciding which AR experiences to add and take out because i lot of ideas flooded my mind.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
What we learned
Combining two separate UI design tools is very intuitive, smart, and fast especially for quick prototyping and testing of ideas. The future of design is AI-powered.
