Inspiration

Meuwri was not born from a safe plan or a market brief. It came from something deeply personal.

I have always wanted to create something meaningful—to build something capable of leaving a mark on the world. For a long time, however, that ambition remained only an idea. Then one day, without knowing whether I had chosen the right project or whether I would be able to finish it, I decided to begin.

I built Meuwri independently. I experimented, made mistakes, learned unfamiliar technologies, changed direction, rebuilt entire parts of the experience, and continued whenever the project felt larger than me.

This is the first time I have taken an idea all the way from imagination to a complete product that real people can download from the App Store.

The product itself was inspired by a contradiction: we save more information than ever, but meaningful parts of our lives still become scattered across notes, photos, files, voice recordings, links, and unfinished thoughts.

Traditional note-taking applications can store information, but they rarely preserve the context and meaning surrounding it. I wanted to create something more personal than a notes app and more approachable than a file manager: a digital Memory Palace that helps people capture what matters, rediscover it when it becomes useful, and understand patterns they may not have noticed before.

I am not someone who easily describes my own work as exceptional. But I am genuinely proud of Meuwri. I believe it is different, carefully made, and capable of helping people preserve parts of their lives that might otherwise become forgotten.

I did not simply build Meuwri.

I put my heart into it.

What it does

Meuwri is a living digital Memory Palace for capturing, organizing, rediscovering, and understanding personal context.

Users can:

  • Capture thoughts, memories, ideas, photos, audio, links, and files.
  • Organize entries inside a visual personal library.
  • Search for information by meaning, not only by exact titles.
  • Rediscover related memories, photos, ideas, and documents with context.
  • View insights based on themes and patterns within their records.
  • Turn remembered context into useful anticipations and next steps.
  • Talk with a companion that works from the memories the user chooses to save.

Instead of presenting everything as another endless list, Meuwri uses the metaphor of a Memory Palace. Rooms, books, visual transitions, and a companion transform a private archive into a calm space that feels personal and alive.

The purpose is not simply to accumulate information. Meuwri helps people return to what they have already lived, written, photographed, or learned—and recognize why it may matter now.

How we built it

Although this section says “we,” Meuwri was built independently by me.

I developed the application using:

  • React and TypeScript for the interface and product logic.
  • Vite for the development and web build workflow.
  • Capacitor to bring the experience to iOS while supporting native capabilities.
  • Supabase for authentication, private user data, storage, and server-side functionality.
  • RevenueCat for subscriptions, offerings, purchases, entitlement access, and purchase restoration.

RevenueCat became the commercial foundation of Meuwri Premium. Instead of relying on fragile local flags, the application can determine access from the user’s entitlement state and restore valid purchases when necessary.

The product was designed as a connected system rather than a collection of isolated features. Creating a record feeds the library. The library supports retrieval. Retrieval supports insights, anticipations, and conversations. Premium expands the depth of those capabilities while the free experience remains useful.

I also localized Meuwri across multiple languages so that the idea of preserving and rediscovering what matters would not be limited to a single market.

Challenges we ran into

The greatest challenge was translating an emotional idea into a product that remained practical.

A Memory Palace can easily become too abstract, while a productivity application can easily become cold and mechanical. I had to balance emotional design with clarity, speed, and usability.

Other major challenges included:

  • Making text, photos, audio, links, and files feel like parts of one coherent library.
  • Improving search relevance while avoiding unrelated or confusing results.
  • Creating intelligence that supports the user without inventing details or replacing their own voice.
  • Building a responsive interface that remained expressive on different screen sizes.
  • Connecting a web-based architecture with native iOS behavior.
  • Handling authentication redirects and account state reliably.
  • Managing purchases, restored subscriptions, and Premium entitlements.
  • Designing privacy-conscious behavior around deeply personal user content.
  • Localizing a complex emotional experience across multiple languages.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and shipping a real application through the App Store.

There were many moments when solving one problem revealed three more. The project required me to keep learning, testing, rebuilding, and making difficult decisions about what truly belonged in the product.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

My greatest accomplishment is that I finished and shipped it.

Meuwri’s first public version was released on the App Store on September 4, 2026. What began as an uncertain idea became a real product that people can download, explore, and use.

I am especially proud that Meuwri:

  • Has a distinctive identity instead of feeling like another generic productivity tool.
  • Connects capture, organization, retrieval, reflection, and action in one experience.
  • Supports several forms of personal content without becoming a traditional file manager.
  • Uses RevenueCat to provide real subscription and entitlement functionality.
  • Offers a useful free experience while giving Premium a clear purpose.
  • Makes personal information feel approachable through the Memory Palace metaphor.
  • Reached the App Store as a complete independent project.
  • Is available in multiple languages to users across different countries.

I placed countless hours of attention, uncertainty, learning, and care into every screen, interaction, challenge, and decision. Completing Meuwri showed me that I could carry an ambitious project from an idea all the way to a published product.

What we learned

The most important lesson was that clarity matters more than the number of features.

A useful memory product needs to answer three questions quickly:

  1. Can I save something without interrupting my day?
  2. Can I find it again when I need it?
  3. Can the application help me understand or act on it?

I also learned that artificial intelligence is most valuable when it has clear boundaries. In Meuwri, intelligence should make retrieval and reflection easier while keeping the user’s memories, choices, and identity at the center.

I learned that monetization works best when it feels connected to genuine value. Premium should not exist only to restrict the application. It should clearly expand what the product can help the user accomplish.

Most importantly, I learned that finishing requires a different kind of courage than starting. Building something imperfect, improving it repeatedly, submitting it for review, and allowing other people to experience it taught me more than leaving another idea unfinished ever could.

What's next for Meuwri

The next step is bringing Meuwri to more people.

I want to continue improving search quality, insights, anticipations, performance, accessibility, and the way different memories connect across time.

I also want to deepen personalization and motivation through profiles, avatars, friendships, badges, and leagues—while ensuring that private memories remain private and that social features never turn personal reflection into unwanted public content.

Future development will continue to focus on:

  • Faster and more meaningful retrieval.
  • Better connections between memories and recurring themes.
  • More useful anticipations based on context.
  • Deeper personalization without sacrificing clarity.
  • Thoughtful ways for friends to encourage one another.
  • Broader accessibility and platform availability.
  • Continued improvements to privacy, reliability, and user control.

I have not yet reached as many people as I hope to reach, but I believe Meuwri has enormous potential.

This application already represents more than a finished project to me. It represents the moment I stopped waiting to create something meaningful and proved that I could bring it into the world.

Meuwri does not just help people remember more. It helps them understand better—and move forward with greater clarity.
