Inspiration
During spring break this quarter, my out-of-state friends and I planned and went to a trip to the Bay Area! Though the trip was really enjoyable (minus the rain), we found the process of creating a trip itinerary that fitted everybody's need to be challenging. That's the basis of our idea.
What it does
Our website takes in a user input and leverages Google's Gemini API to generate a list of candidate locations for a specified vacation destination. It then displays images to the users and the users can pick and choose which locations they enjoy the most. Taking their choices, we create an itinerary, designed on their request.
How we built it
Front end: Figma, React, Tailwind CSS Back end: Flask, python
Challenges we ran into
Connecting front end and back end was difficult + server issues
Accomplishments that we're proud of
For many of us, LAHacks was our first hackathon, so navigating a new environment and meeting some many new people is something we're proud of. The Figma wireframe is also beautiful and we're happy we were able to implement some of it.
What we learned
Figma, React, the power of friendship or smth
What's next for MetroVerse
We didn't finish a lot of our ideas, so implementing everything!
