Inspiration

Metaschool is an existing app, during the hackathon, we added the AI features and renamed the project to Metaschool AI.

Metaschool AI is at the forefront of transforming education in Africa. Our platform addresses critical challenges such as teacher shortages and infrastructure limitations, ensuring equitable access to quality education for millions of students in Africa.

Metaschool AI was born out of a deep concern about the educational disparities in Ghana (West Africa). Inspired by the statistic that 80% of Ghanaian fifth graders couldn't read a simple story, we envisioned a platform that could break down barriers, empower students, and provide a personalized learning experience.

Development and Challenges: At the heart of Metaschool AI lies a powerful multi-modal retrieval system. This system indexes vast amounts of educational content, from textbooks and videos to assessments, and enables students to access relevant information through simple queries. Employing techniques like semantic search and contextual understanding, we provide highly accurate and informative responses to student inquiries.

One of the biggest hurdles was gathering high-quality educational content that was culturally relevant and aligned with Ghanaian curriculum standards.
