My Story — How I Built Metanoia
First and foremost, Metanoia is purpose and a calling for me.
When I started following Christ deeply and passionately, I was amazed by how much knowledge is in the Word of God. I saw clearly how the Word can change the world. But there was a challenge: understanding the Word of God takes time. Many people don’t know how to extract light and revelation from the Bible, and even fewer understand the important role of the Holy Spirit in revealing the Word to us.
So I sat down and began to think. I prayed, received ideas, and the vision became clearer. I was inspired to transcribe preached sermons from spirit-led preachers—men and women who have the gift to extract deep light from scripture.
With my background in data and database administration, it made sense to store these sermons in a database. Then, using AI, I could organize and fetch this unstructured data so that others could use it to grow and mature in the Word of God.
I was moved by the fact that so many people are ignorant of the Word—the very same Word that transformed me and made me a better man. Through it, I became a righteous man who is now trying to make the world a better place by helping others encounter that same transformation.
How I Built It
Honestly, I wouldn’t have been able to build this without Bolt.
I have very little knowledge of web development tools like TypeScript and React, but thanks to Bolt, I was able to answer this call and present my project to the world.
My biggest challenge so far has been tokens, but I pray that I can get full access to the Bolt platform. I want to keep building life-changing solutions that bring light to the world and advance the Kingdom of Heaven.
Along the way, I learned so many things while building and setting up Metanoia — like working with Firestore for authentication and database management, and deploying to platforms like Netlify and Vercel.
I also picked up some TypeScript and React basics, and learned how to prompt Bolt more effectively to get the results I needed.
This project was completely built with the help of the Word of God. I used things we already do in ministry, like study groups, and added them as features in the platform to help believers grow.
Through prayer, seeking God's voice, and being led by the Holy Spirit, I was able to build Metanoia — a tool to help others receive the same light that changed me.
What’s Next for Metanoia
Looking ahead, I want to add a few new features — especially community features that allow believers to come together, encourage one another, and grow deeper in the Word of God.
There’s still so much work to do. I need to transcribe and upload more sermons into the Firestore database, as well as add books and audio sermons to enrich the platform with more Christ-centered content.
