We decided to use the meta glasses to augment the game Magic: The Gathering. Using the marker tracking available in Meta glasses, we are able to overlay the images of arbitrary Magic cards over printed marker patterns. The original inspiration for the project came from our poor college years, where our enthusiasm for Magic was tempered by our inability to afford good cards. While printing inkjet-proxies of expensive cards is a bit of a tradition in the casual Magic community, this approach requires a lot of time printing and cutting, and must be repeated whenever a particular deck grows boring. With augmented reality, a single set of printed markers can be used to emulate any possible deck, and players can switch decks as often as they want at the click of a mouse.
