Inspiration
I had problems accessing information/knowledge about a certain topic in my desired language. When I did not speak English when I first came to U.S. I did not have access to information because I could not find information about a certain topic in my native language. The distribution of abundance of easily accessible information is widened as the most information and research are done in the universal default language, which is "English" I felt this was not fair for everyone that deserves same accessibility to the information. I also wanted to develop a good study tool that can take texts off images and summarize it for me.
What it does
The application takes texts off images and converts the images and the user can summarize and translate the texts and everybody has access to his/her notes but also every user's notes, making the information easily accessible to everybody.
How we built it
I built it with the SQLite to store the data including user credential and user's notes. I used the hashing to store the hash instead of real authentication password of each user for security reason.
Challenges we ran into
Integration of many things was challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of making this product to enhance everybody's learning experience and information sharing experience and break the limit of each one's learning ability.
What we learned
I learned the power of AI that can actually aid students and learners.
What's next for StudyShare
Categorization of notes is needed to effectively make information accessible to users.
