Our Inspiration

According to a Google survey, most girls think that computer science is “difficult” or “boring” because they don’t know what computer science actually means (Bailey, 2018). However, a study of GitHub users shows that code written by women was accepted 78.6 percent of the time – 4 percent more than code written by men, which means that women were better coders (Bailey, 2018). Under such a circumstance, encourage women to get close to and attend computer science events can have a significant impact on women to consider careers in this field.

What is Merge APP?

This is the mobile app, focused on event information collection. There are lots of technique events hold on campus. Both officer and students can submit the event information, share the event to everyone. These event might be interested in women or students to inspire them to learn technique. Also they can find friends who have similar interests. It can submit event information by taking pictures.

How we built it

We using ionic 3 to building mobile application, using angular 7 to building web event dashboard, using springmvc and mysql to building backend.

Challenges

We need more time to do the machine learning training part to training the accuracy of transfer event text from a picture, and also more time to finish other part left.
