Mesa 93- Mercado de Libros Tec Formalized

The first Hackathon.

This was our first Hackathon. The start was rough. We started lost in a sea of possibilities with no programming experience whatsoever. So we went to a solution most of our teammates was comfortable with: a website.

We were inspired by the famous Facebook group used by our university students to sell stuff: _ Mercado de Libros Tec _. And we decided to formalize the group into a full website. For that, we realized we needed a database, thus guided by the mentors we were introduced to Firebase, a cloud based platform developed by Google. The learning curve for us was incredible. In one night we learned what we though we could learn in a month. Now with HTML, CSS and Javascript bases, we started building the website. However, the Firebase platform resulted harder than expected, and the code wasn't working as expected. We needed to change our original idea to a simpler one to make it work. Nevertheless we were running out of time after an intense night of learning. Our project wasn't finished when the due date came. However, the knowledge we acquired during the comptetition is something nobody ncan take from us.
