Inspiration
My inspiration was to use the Meraki API to simplify something so that a technician could do something on site without having full access to the Meraki dashboard.
What it does
It provides a few functions that are needed by a technician on site.
How we built it
The web app itself was developed using the Python framework Django. The templates were designed with HTML and CSS. The Meraki SDK was used for API access.
Challenges we ran into
A lack of time and a not working Meraki OpenAPI Sandbox APIKey.... https://community.meraki.com/t5/Developers-APIs/Sandbox-broken/m-p/155284
Accomplishments that we're proud of
That despite the shortened time I have managed an almost complete design and partial functionalities.
What we learned
How to do something under extreme time pressure, which is further increased by other things. Very much about Django and Python. Something about the Meraki API. Very much HTML and CSS and something about Bootstrap.
What's next for Meraki Easy Web App
The functionalities are being finalized so that the web app works as planned. This is then extended with a custom API to then develop a native application that accesses it.
