MentorLink Project Overview

Inspiration

The idea for MentorLink arose from the challenges that small business owners, particularly those in underserved regions, face in finding accessible and effective digital mentorship. Many of these businesses lack the guidance needed to navigate digital transformation. MentorLink was created to address this gap, offering a platform that connects small businesses with mentors equipped to provide targeted, practical support.

What It Does

MentorLink is an AI-driven platform that matches small business owners with expert digital mentors based on their specific needs and goals. Key features include:

AI Matching System: Matches mentees with mentors specialized in their industry or area of need. Goal Tracking: Allows mentees to set milestones and track progress throughout the mentorship journey. Personalized Growth Tools: Provides customized resources to help small business owners apply digital strategies effectively.

How We Built It

To create MentorLink, we followed a structured development process:

1.User Research: We conducted surveys and interviews with small business owners to identify their primary challenges and mentorship needs.

2.Development in Dart and Flutter: Leveraging Dart and Flutter, we built a responsive, cross-platform application that offers a seamless experience on both mobile and web.

3.Smart Matching Algorithm: We developed a matching algorithm that considers factors such as industry type, mentor expertise, and mentee goals to ensure productive mentor-mentee connections.

Challenges We Ran Into

Throughout the development process, we encountered several challenges:

1.Locating Qualified Mentors: Finding mentors with expertise in niche areas was challenging, especially for highly specialized businesses.
