🚀 Mentora – Mentorship Simplified, Growth Amplified

🎯 Inspiration

Finding the right mentor can be a challenge, especially for students and professionals looking for guidance. We realized that many talented individuals struggle to connect with experienced mentors who can help them grow. That's why we built Mentora — A seamless and accessible platform where anyone can find the right mentor to guide them on their journey.

🔍 What It Does

Mentora connects mentees with experienced mentors in various fields. Mentees can browse mentor profiles, schedule one-on-one sessions, and get personalized guidance. Mentors, on the other hand, can share their expertise, help others grow, and expand their professional networks.

🛠️ How We Built It

Frontend: Built with React ⚛️ to ensure a smooth and interactive user experience.
Backend: Powered by Node.js and Express.js for handling user data and authentication.
Database: We used MongoDB 🍃 for managing user profiles, sessions, and interactions.
UI/UX: Designed a simple responsive interface using Tailwind CSS 🎨.

🚧 Challenges We Faced

Aligning the vision: Ensuring every team member was on the same page about the features and design.
Time constraints: Completing a fully functional prototype within the limited hackathon duration
Learning curve: We had to learn Backend development from scratch while developing the app.

Successfully built a working prototype within the hackathon timeframe.
Designed a simple landing page to better showcase the app.
Created a real-world solution that has the potential to help thousands of students get personalized career guidance and support

🔮 What's Next for Mentora?

🚀 Expanding features to include In-App Video Sessions, Ai based Mentor and Mentee matching and Group Mentorship Sessions. 📱 Giving the app an entirely new and intuitive design which would take user experience to the next level.
🌍 Scaling the platform to reach more people across different industries and regions.

As the team leader of Mentora, I identified the problem, pitched the idea, and guided my team on key features. We also learnt React during the process and created a dynamic frontend with it. Despite challenges like aligning visions and tight deadlines, I adapted, communicated effectively, and grew as both a leader and a developer. This creative experience taught me how to bring ideas to life.

Arbab Hussain
I developed and integrated the backend using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, implementing JWT authentication, bcrypt password hashing, and API validation with express-validator. I designed and optimized RESTful APIs and tested and debugged APIs using Postman to enhance performance and security and and scheduled tasks using node-cron. On the frontend, I integrated APIs with React using Axios.

Muhammad Talha Shafiq
First to Identify the probelm and then communicated with my friends, then I made deisgn for our Project (Mentora).
Worked on Frontend with my friends (Arbab and Rafy ) help them to make Mentors and Mentee components for Mentora.
Secondly, worked with (Ada Talha to assist him in backend).
Tested the Routes of our project Mentora using (Postman). Inshort worked as a Lead Developer.

Farooque Sajjad
For the hackathon, our team brought Mentora to life, a project designed to revolutionize mentorship and learning. I actively contributed to the frontend development, working alongside my respected teammate Farooque to craft an intuitive and visually engaging user interface. Together, we ensured a seamless user experience, implementing responsive design and interactive elements that enhanced the platform’s accessibility. Our focus was on creating a frontend that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It was an exciting journey of collaboration, problem-solving, and innovation, and I am proud of the impact we made as a team!
