Inspiration

Everyone wants guidance. But finding the right mentor someone who truly understands how you think and supports your growth is difficult, expensive, and often inaccessible. Most people don’t need more advice. They need clarity, structure, and someone to help them process their thoughts.

Mentor was created around a simple belief: AI shouldn’t replace your thinking. It should strengthen it. The goal isn’t to give answers it’s to help people think clearly, decide confidently, and move forward.

What it does

Mentor is a personal AI coaching app that helps users turn conversations into real progress. After a short onboarding, users are matched with a personalized AI mentor based on their thinking style, motivation patterns, and decision preferences. Conversations become actionable structure: • Tasks • Goals • Weekly focus • Progress reflection

Users can switch mentors anytime, create their own custom mentors, and explore a marketplace of coaching styles. Mentor is designed as a calm environment for thinking not just another chat interface.

How we built it

Mentor is a full-stack iOS app built with a scalable architecture.

RevenueCat was integrated to support a production-ready subscription model.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was designing AI that supports independent thinking without taking control. We had to carefully balance: • Guidance vs autonomy • Structure vs flexibility • Intelligence vs restraint

Creating mentors that feel truly distinct not generic was also a major challenge. On the technical side, building a scalable mentor ecosystem with real-time synchronization required careful architecture.

What we learned

We learned that AI is most powerful when it improves thinking, not when it replaces it. Good coaching isn’t about answers it’s about perspective, structure, and clarity. We also learned that restraint in AI design is essential for building trust.

What’s next for Mentor

The current version of Mentor is a working demo of a much bigger vision. Next, we plan to evolve it into a complete AI coaching platform with:
