These alarming statistics reflect the wider prevalence of mental ill-health more generally and this is not all. Doctors estimate that mental health conditions will affect a staggering one in four people at some time in their lives. This makes poor mental health a global problem needed to be solve as soon as possible.

What it does

MentliCo provides an instant free and effective solution to this global problem. Using MentliCo's various features you and your loved ones can implement and develop good mental habits, improve your mental health overall, and develop a positive and healthy mindset.

MentliCo has 6 different features: A Mental Diary, A Pomodoro Timer, A Personal Customizable Chatbot, A gallery of yoga poses from 3 types of yoga (you can search and sort different asanas), Current Articles on Mental Health, and a Beginner's Guide to Mental Health.

Mental Diary: It is statistically proven that journaling can help reduce anxiety, lessen feelings of stress, and increase an individual's mental well-being. You can use MentliCo's mental diary to write about your thoughts, emotions, and feelings that are troubling you. Simply writing those troubling thoughts and feelings out can make a huge difference as it can free up the your mind and re-instill calmness and focus in your mind.

Pomodoro Timer: In the pandemic, work level has greatly increased and a lot of people sit in front of their computers for prolonged periods of time. It is not healthy for your mind to work for long periods of time without a break. Using the Pomodoro Timer feature you can implement small breaks into your work. This will increase your productivity and decrease the stress and frustration you have on a daily basis.

Personal Chatbot: Sometimes just talking about to someone about your feelings can help you stay in good mental health and deal with times when you feel troubled. You can use the MentliCo's chat bot to just let out all your frustration and feelings and to have a good conversation. To add on, you can use the chat bot as a friend if you get bored too. It is a fun element to play around with.

A gallery of yoga poses: Mental health is not only about the mind, it is also about the body. It is crucial for you to occasionally take some time and just relax your whole body. Yoga is a great way of doing this. You can use MentliCo's yoga gallery to try some relaxing yoga poses. The yoga gallery includes poses from different types of yoga: Pilates yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga. You can search and sort through the gallery to find the type of yoga and poses that you like the best.

How I built it

I built the website using HTML, CSS, JS, and Bootstrap. I built the chat bot using Python, HTML, CSS, JS, and LocalStorage. I built the mental diary using HTML, CSS, JS, and LocalStorage. I built the pomodoro timer using HTML, CSS, and JS.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very proud of being able to complete so many elements in such a limited amount of time.

What I learned

I never really used LocalStorage and JS before, but through this project I was able to develop a very good understanding of them. I also learned how to do animations with JS.
