Inspiration

My daughter, who is studying Economics, was telling me how excited she was to be able to meet with one of her professors who is a woman because she doesn't meet many women in Economics.

What it does

It is an app that allows you to create a profile and have areas of interest. You can then match with women who also have those same interests and create a Mentorship relationship, either as a Mentor or as a Mentee.

How we built it

This is built on Microsoft Power Platform, specifically canvas apps.

Challenges we ran into

I accidentally deleted the app several hours into work. Ouch.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm excited that the app is as functional as it is. There are certainly places that it can be improved, but all major functionality is there.

What we learned

This made me think about what it would be like to be in an underrepresented field as a woman, and how helpful it would be to meet and collaborate with other women.

What's next for MentHER

We might use it internally if I can show it to people in our Women's group. There are still some features that need to be built: ability to create a profile, add Areas of Interest on the fly.
