Inspiration
We are inspired by the prevalent issue of limited accessibility of mental health resources accessible to everyone, so we decided to create a chatbot and quiz designed to help individuals of all backgrounds.
What it does
Mental Miracle is a tool that helps people discuss their feelings and learn a quick way to help improve their mental health. This website provides viewers with a chatbot that helps them navigate through their feelings and feel better. There is also a quiz feature that asks creative questions about a person’s feelings and preferences to help them give a stress-relief tip that is catered to how they are feeling.
How we built it
We built Mental Miracle using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Making the chatbot was the biggest challenge since we had never made one before. After lots of research and collaboration, we were able to create one catered towards informing the user about information on mental health!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the chatbot’s text message-like design, which allows the user to feel more comfortable in messaging the chatbot, enabling for a more natural conversation between the user and the chatbot.
What we learned
Throughout this project, we learned how to create a scalable quiz in Javascript that caters to the responses of the viewer based on their answers to different questions. We also learned how to make the chatbot respond using the keywords in the user’s input, filtering out any filler words.
What's next for Mental Miracle
Our vision for the future involves a continuous expansion of our chatbot and quiz. We would love to collaborate with mental health institutions to improve our chatbot and have it better cater to people’s needs. Also, we would like to scale our quiz further to have more questions to assess a person’s feelings to improve accuracy. Furthermore, we would like to add forms to gain user feedback and have continuous improvement.
