Inspiration

Our inspiration comes from the fact that there is 1 in 3 Canadians that will suffer from a mental illness during their lifetime. There is $51 billion per year on the loss of mental health-related issues.

What it does

Our platform provides an aesthetically pleasing interactive environment that allows people with past and current experiences with mental illness to post their experiences online where they can be guided into a solution. A solution consists of either a user response or a recommendation provided by an AI system.

How I built it

Using HTML 5 and node.js we implemented the interactive website. The forum is moderated and provides recommendations using an AI.

Challenges I ran into

Implementation of an AI was difficult to achieve within the 24 hrs allotted, however, we created a schematic of backend code of the AI.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We were able to collect data 150 student samples who were interested in this platform and admitted that would reduce mental health stigma.

What I learned

In this project, we learned effective pitching and presentation techniques. In additional we learned how to use node.js and HTML 5 to implement an interactive website that houses the user to user connection experience.

What's next for Mental Health Project

Technical Action Plan:

-Creating the AI and improving the AI over time to allow an analysis of the user and provide relevant suggestions to tailor to the needs of the user.

Nationwide Expansion:
