Inspiration

Mental health struggles are often silent, and many people don’t know how to express what they’re feeling until it becomes overwhelming. I’ve seen friends, classmates, and even myself face stress, anxiety, and emotional burnout without proper tools to understand or manage it. I wanted to build something simple yet meaningful — a companion that helps people reflect, track their emotions, and notice patterns before things get worse. That idea became Mental Health Manager.

What it does Mental Health Manager helps users: Log daily mood, stress levels, and feelings Visualize emotional patterns over time Access helpful reminders and self-care prompts Stay aware of mental well-being in an easy, non-judgmental way It turns daily emotional experiences into insights that strengthen long-term mental wellness.

How I built it Designed UI/UX focused on simplicity and emotional comfort Used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a clean, accessible frontend Implemented local data storage and structured organization for user entries Added interactive features such as mood charts, daily logs, and guided prompts Focused on smooth transitions and an interface that feels calming rather than overwhelming

Challenges I ran into Creating a design that feels welcoming without being cluttered Ensuring the mood-tracking system stays intuitive Managing data storage and keeping the app lightweight yet useful Balancing features — adding enough to be impactful, but not too many to confuse the user

Accomplishments that I'm proud of Built a meaningful project that responds to a real problem Created a fully functional tool with a simple, supportive design Learned how to structure mental-wellness features effectively Made an app that can genuinely help people reflect and understand themselves better

What I learned How to design user-centric apps that prioritize emotional comfort Handling data structuring, user entries, and UI interactions Importance of balancing features with simplicity That even small ideas can make a big difference when built with empathy

What's next for Mental Health Manager Adding AI-powered emotion insights Integrating cloud syncing for multi-device use Allowing users to export reports Adding guided breathing, journaling, and mindfulness tools
