Inspiration
Mental Health being a big issue and the team having a shared experience trying to connect with a counselor
What it does
This project aims to make mental health accessibility easier for those who don't have the courage or are trying to reach for a counselor in a much more simpler way.
How we built it
We used HTML, JavaScript, and CSS to format everything on the front-end and make it look nice. We also used python to mimic the video that's set on repeat on the Official CunyFirst website to give the view an idea of what it would look like if it were to be implemented to CunyFirst's navigation bar.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was implementing a chatbot to communicate with the student and giving our 'Servers' functionality, the purpose of the 'Servers' is to help connect peers with one another or with a counselor.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of making the UI mostly functional to our best ability and getting the main features working.
What we learned
We learned how to work with most of the front-end languages and improved our skills in working as a team, mostly communicating and time management.
What's next for Mental Health Hub
Adding functionality to our 'Servers' columns to connect those who are interesting in communicating with one another.
