Mental Health Hub

Inspiration

The reason we chose this was because mental health is very important and over the pandemic, many realized just how important it really is. One of our teammates had actually knew someone who tried to commit suicide and noticed how difficult it was to find somewhere that is actually is prepared to help people with mental health issues.

What it does

This app allows a user to make sure if they need help and if they do, then they input their county and the app will output a hospital in their county that has a mental health center.

How we built it

We built it using code.org

Challenges we ran into

A challenge we ran into was if the user inputs their county spelt wrong, then the system would default to the first index in the list.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of having our system stand up to the WCAG accessibility standards.

What we learned

One thing we learned was how few hospital in Florida have mental health centers.

What's next for Mental Health Hub

We would like to be able to implement this program to be usable all over the US instead of just Florida.
