Inspiration

Personally, found working with my team very rewarding and stimulating. We collaborated, communicated and collated a powerful solution to a potent problem. Received some invaluable insights and advice from mentors, which was used to hone in our solution fit, and support some of our assumptions.

What it does

Mens Circle is a grassroots solution to build mental fitness in rural men through authentic peer connection.

How we built it

We spent a lot of time on clarifying the problem/solution, developing a concise problem statement and finding a solution that expressly sought to resolve the core issues of disconnection and isolation amongst rural men.

Challenges we ran into

Scalability was our formost challenge.. Identifying ways in which to formalize a framework to ensure Mens Circle was facilitated to specific standards, delivering a model of care across different localities, and via different channels (online).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As a team we built a working model for scaling an initiative that has been demonstrated to help country men find growth and greater perspectives.

What we learned

How important clarity of the problem/solution is for a tailored approach to addressing the issue. We made use of the 5 Whys, to help identify the root cause problem we were looking to solve.

What's next for Mens Circle

Mens Circle will begin to find its way into spaces where our target audience spends their time, the pubs, stores, sporting fields, that many of the silent stoic rural men visit regularly. This will be used to foster exposure to the initiative, with the intention of funneling prospects online (initially) to gain awareness of Mens Circle and find some value. With this accomplished the next stage is to promote the courage necessary to attend a Mens Circle in-person; in doing so, gain a true appreciation for the power of authentic peer connection.
