Inspiration
Today, people and their partners grapple with the challenges of navigating the often complex and misunderstood phase of the perimenopause to menopause transition, as well as post-menopause. This pivotal life stage brings about unique physical, mental, relational and emotional changes that can feel isolating, overwhelming and disruptive.
What it does
Menocare cares about everyone on their menopause journey, no matter the why, who or when. We don’t judge. Menocare is an accessible, inclusive and secure web app which leverages AI algorithms to analyze extensive menopause and healthcare data to accurately identify patterns in symptoms, provide insights, and provide relevant and personalized resources for both users and their partners, as well as community support. It will in the future have 24/7 AI chatbot support for both mental health support and to immediately get help by having personalized support resources recommended.
How we built it
• User-centered approach • Discovery research -Secondary research -Survey Data -Competitive analysis • Analyzed results • Generated user persona and stories • Created a user flow from user story • Mobile-first approach • Created low-mid fidelity mobile wireframes and prototype • Created low-high fidelity wireframes and prototype • Developed some of our onboarding and landing page
Challenges we ran into
• Limited to a timeframe of 2 weeks for project completion to conduct the entire design process thoroughly • Absence of product manager throughout the whole process • Challenges in finding users for interviews and testing • Developer constraints including time and specialty
Accomplishments that we're proud of
• Our effort to keep our app user-centered and address real problems despite the time constraint • Our effort to ensure an accessible and user-friendly experience for users • Our ability to translate research findings into features • Our consistent collaboration and communication among team members • Our ability to have put together this project as a joint team
What we learned
• Establish an accessible visual timeline with concrete checkpoints and deadlines especially for different roles to manage time better • Set reminders for tasks and deadlines • Establish detailed skillset, tools and time availability notes for all team members • Set scope of project based on skillset and time availability of members • Refine and build a more comprehensive Product Requirements Document • Have more productive team meetings • Ensure role of lead or product manager throughout whole process to avoid confusion, misunderstanding and keep confidence up
