Inspiration

Our team members all love to travel, but we know how difficult it is to do physical journaling of your experiences! We got our inspiration from Google Maps' timeline feature.

What it does

Menk Travel can help you document your past and future travel experiences through events and markers on a map.

How we built it

We used a combination of Flutter, MongoDB Atlas, and Terraform to build a mobile app that met our project idea and goals.

Challenges we ran into

  • We initially wanted to use React Native, but struggled to get the environment for mobile development set up on our environments. We ended up switching to Flutter.
  • Setting up MongoDB Atlas and Terraform took almost 12 hours of total time from us due to conflicting information from multiple different guides and docs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Integrating Google Maps API
  • Eventually linking MongoDB Atlas and Terraform
