Inspiration: Spore? Kinda.

What it does: Using a genetic algorithm, it allows the to player to simulate the breeding and evolution of plant species, and the emergency of strong/dominant genotypes over multiple generations

How we built it: The dev team drank six cans of coca-cola (classic), consumed multiple Pringles Cylinders, and used a prototyping approach loosely adapted from the acclaimed concepts of Agile

Challenges we ran into: Around the striking of the 12th hour, we heard the mad ravings of a dancing crowd, paired with hit parody song “Chug Jug with you.” It sent the dev team into a delirious state of mind, which paired poorly with the unstable blood sugar levels present at the moment, that resulted in a three hour sugar crash

Accomplishments that we're proud of: No heart palpitations. We finally decided on something to build. We have desires for next hackathon.

What we learned: Do not stay in uncomfortable situations, like sitting in a loud room or on the cold, hard tiles uninterrupted for 5 hours. Also, planning is a pretty gamer move.

What's next for Mendel's Gambit: Introduce new evolutionary challenges, along with updating visuals.
