Inspiration
We wanted to create a low-stakes project that allows people to have fun while training their brain!
What it does
Our project tests the user's memory by providing a randomly generated image that gradually disappears, and the player is tasked with recreating it in a short amount of time. With each of the four rounds, the image becomes more complex and disappears faster.
How we built it
We used libraries and frameworks such as Node.js, MongoDB, Express, HTML, and CSS to design a web app that can perform the above requirements.
Challenges we ran into
Being able to integrate the database in a meaningful manner
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One feature we developed is the increase in difficulty with each round of the game. As the game progresses, the probability that two squares of the same color will appear next to each other decreases, making the image design seem more random and harder to replicate. We are also proud of our overall teamwork and good collaboration skills, and having fun!
What we learned
For some of us, this was our first Hackathon, so we gained valuable Hackathon experience. We also learned how to collaborate effectively by using GitHub within VSCode.
What's next for MemPaint
Since MemPaint currently only runs locally, we are considering expanding MemPaint to be available to play online.
