Inspiration

This project was inspired by the need to make managing information easier. It uses augmented reality to help people create and access visual notes. The goal was to build a tool that is simple, useful, and fun to use.

What it does

The app lets users create, place, and view visual notes in augmented reality. Users can attach notes to real-world spaces using their phone's camera and see them later when they return to the same location. It makes organizing and recalling information more interactive and location-based.

How we built it

We built the app using Unity and Vuforia to create and manage augmented reality features. The user interface was designed in Figma to ensure it was simple and easy to use. The app was tested and deployed on an iPhone to showcase its functionality. Fixing the final issues.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges with aligning the AR notes accurately in real-world spaces. Setting up Unity and Vuforia for AR development took time, especially with limited resources. Testing on the iPhone was also tricky because of compatibility issues and time constraints.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of creating an intuitive AR app that allows users to interact with their environment in new ways. Despite the time limits, we successfully implemented the core functionality of placing and viewing visual notes. We also learned a lot about augmented reality development and collaboration under pressure.

What we learned

We learned how to work with augmented reality tools like Unity and Vuforia to bring ideas to life. We also gained experience in quickly designing and developing a functional app under time constraints. Most importantly, we learned the value of teamwork and adapting to challenges on the fly.

What's next for MemoSphere: Augmented Notes in Your World

Next, we plan to refine the app by improving accuracy and performance in real-world environments. We’ll also explore adding features like voice notes and multi-user collaboration. The goal is to make MemoSphere a more powerful and seamless tool for organizing and sharing ideas in augmented reality.
