We have created this application to assist people with dementia or Alzheimer's in their earlier stages so they can stay up to date with their appointments, medication, and any personalized care they need.
The symbols make it easier for them to interact with the app. There is a dedicated section to give reviews where we have an audio and video option for the review instead of typing it so the patients can review their appointments in any way that they find convenient and in any language they find convenient. There’s an Education section that can give them access to public resources and knowledge. There is a face id feature so the patient can securely log in without having to type any ID. There is a section where the guardian can schedule an appointment for them and view their history. this would keep them connected with the patient at all times. There is a countdown section that shows the time until the next appointment so that the patient is reminded of it every time he opens the app.
We were inspired by our personal experiences with family members who had dementia and were mistreated by the nurses while they had no one to tell it to or give reviews, given that they didn’t even speak English. Just so no one else would have to face these difficulties in the future, we came up with this app so it can be a bridge between the patients and hospice staff, helping them and tending to their needs. the main challenge we faced was that in our group of 3, each one of us was familiar with a different language, thus we had to learn Python from scratch taking the help of youtube and other resources.
