Project Details

MemoryLine is an AI-powered voice reminder system designed for caregivers who need a more reliable way to check in on loved ones, patients, or older adults.

Caregivers can create reminders for important daily tasks such as taking medication, drinking water, eating a meal, or preparing for an appointment. Instead of relying only on texts, alarms, or app notifications, MemoryLine turns those reminders into real phone calls.

When a caregiver triggers a reminder, MemoryLine uses ElevenLabs Conversational AI and Twilio to place an outbound call. The AI voice agent introduces itself, delivers the reminder in a calm and supportive tone, and asks the person to confirm that they understood.

The system is designed with caregiving in mind. The AI agent speaks slowly and clearly, avoids medical advice, does not pretend to be human, and includes guardrails for confusion or safety concerns. If the patient seems unsure, refuses, or may need help, the system can mark the reminder as needing caregiver follow-up.

For our MVP, we built a working web app where users can manage reminders and trigger a real AI phone call. The app is built with Next.js, TypeScript, ElevenLabs, Twilio, Vercel, and GitHub.

Key Features Create caregiver reminders Store patient name, phone number, reminder type, and reminder message Trigger a real AI-powered phone call Personalize the call using dynamic reminder details Use a calm, caregiver-focused AI voice agent Return call status, conversation ID, and call SID Display reminder status in the dashboard Designed for future support of call summaries and caregiver alerts Tech Stack Frontend: Next.js, React, TypeScript Backend: Next.js API routes Voice AI: ElevenLabs Conversational AI Calling: Twilio Deployment: Vercel Version Control: GitHub What Makes It Different

Most reminder tools are passive. They send a notification and hope someone sees it. MemoryLine is active. It reaches out with a real voice call, making reminders harder to miss and easier to understand.

The goal is not to replace caregivers. The goal is to give them a supportive tool that helps them stay connected, reduce uncertainty, and know when someone may need follow-up.

Future Improvements Automatic post-call summaries Confusion detection from call transcripts Completed / No Answer / Needs Attention status updates Caregiver SMS alerts Recurring scheduled reminders Multiple caregivers per patient Multilingual reminder calls Emergency escalation rules

MemoryLine turns reminders into conversations.
