Inspiration

I wanted a peaceful way to relive memories in a different way.

What it does

Uploads your photos, turns them into seeds, and lets you plant memory trees in VR. You can also view other gardens that are marked as public and view or like memories of other users.

How we built it

Unity VR app with Postgres backend, and real-time synced garden layouts. QR upload flow web app uploader built in React.

Challenges we ran into

Fast uploads, syncing VR placement, and making a smooth, calming experience quickly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a functional VR garden where photos grow into interactive memory trees. Most of the work here was all on the back end to ensure all the RLS policies were in place and working correctly.

What we learned

How to blend VR interaction, cloud storage, and other real-time systems. I definitely will be using the tech stack created for this in upcoming projects.
