Inspiration
We wanted to make a flashcard app that would ping users at random times during the day (which they could control) in order to help solidify their memories of the topics they choose.
What it does
The app simply creates flashcard sets that house flashcards for users to use and study from.
How we built it
We used the Flutter framework in order to build and test our ios app, while also using live share on vscode to collaborate and work together in real time.
Challenges we ran into
Some of our teammates had issues downloading and getting Flutter to successfully run the code on their devices, either because of installation issues or because of OS limitations now allowing them to test the iOS app. Also, we had issues implementing the notification system as we had to be certified Apple developers in order to use this feature, which we are not.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
In the end, the final product is certainly presentable, featuring flashcard sets that house flashcards for study use. Also, we did this all while one of our older teammates was teaching the younger ones how to download and use Flutter.
What we learned
We learned the difficulties that arise when creating an app from scratch, even if it is a simple one. We also learned the difficulties that working in a team can present, but also the amazing benefits it can provide.
