Memori core business is a onestop online platform that provides affordable and accessible legacy planning services for the masses. During COVID-19 period, Memori Cares platform was started manually for Front-line low wage healthcare workers and socially-disadvantaged who are vulnerable, to obtain comprehensive health insurance for COVID-19 and basic healthcare, either through exchanging recyclable items or public donation. Currently, this is being done manually, we are applying for the grant to build an online mobile platform for the masses where this can be facilitate digitally and also for claims to be processed quickly. With the digital mobile platform, we could scale this regionally among ASEAN countries and perhaps internationally.
We are targeting the following groups without basic health and COVID-19 insurances: (I) Front-line healthcare low wage workers are daily risking their life combating the COVID-19 pandemic while the socially disadvantaged. (II) Rural poor (III) Socially disadvantaged
Local Households typically are required to pay a monthly collection fee for government run waste management services, but Memori Cares is able accept recyclable waste as annual premium for its health insurance model. This encourages low-income households to mobilise their unused resources and learn how to recycle, while gaining free access to medical services. Apart from basic healthcare and medication at appointed clinics, the insurance also covers house calls and COVID-19 hospitalization and treatments. Memori Cares partners a local insurance and a local waste management company to sell the collected recyclables to exchange for health micro-insurance. Our country produces over 30,000 tonnes of garbage every day, with only a third of which gets collected, with the rest disposed through being buried or open-burning.
