Inspiration

When I first came across the Bolt.new hackathon, I saw an opportunity. Could I take a brand new idea from nothing to a finished product in just one month? No shortcuts. No recycling. Just raw inspiration… built under pressure. I was up for the challenge and decided to go full speed with it.

The idea for Memoā came to life just five days before the hackathon began, a project born from scratch, from the most personal place possible.

After twenty years working in high-level, international hospitality around the world, I realized AI was going to reshape the future and I wanted to reshape mine with it. I settled down in Andalucía, Spain with my wife, founded AVA Digital in the U.S., and enrolled in the EITCA/AI Academy Certification from the EU. Back to school, back to building. My goal? Create meaningful products with AI. Memoā is one of them.

Twelve years ago, I lost my mom. Overwhelmed by strangers sending messages to her Facebook after she passed, I deleted her profile. It felt right at the time. Now, I know it was a mistake.

Today, all I have is a three-minute piano recording, the same song I used in the Memoā demo video. Inside it: just fifteen seconds of her voice, recorded right before she passed. I spent days isolating and cleaning that file, running it through AI tools like LALAL.ai, and finally uploading it to ElevenLabs, just to hear her voice again. I’ve been chasing the memory of it for over a decade now.

The result? Already mind-blowing. Soon, I’ll play that voice reading Le Petit Prince to my nephew, a little boy who never met his grandmother. I’m also waiting on old VHS gala tapes of my mom’s shows, hoping to extract more of her voice. Once digitized, with ElevenLabs and the right data, I know we’ll bring her voice back, clearly and fully.

That personal moment… that need to bring memory back to life… that’s Memoā.

I didnt want it to be a typical tribute page. I wanted it to stand out, not just rethink how we navigate memory, but how we navigate the web itself.

A few days before deciding to enter the hackathon, I came across a post on X about a racing game built entirely in Three.js and React (R3F). No physics engines. No raycasts. Just pure 3D web space… built for vibes.

It opened my eyes. That same lightweight, immersive tech, paired with AI and vibe coding could be used for something deeper. Not just entertainment… but memory.

I’d already built successful, paid projects with Bolt. I knew their tools could help turn vision into reality. With Memoā, I pushed it further.

Memoā is a first-person, 3D space where presence, story, and legacy come together. You don’t scroll through memories you move through them. Explore them. Preserve them. For the people you love… and the generations still to come.

It started as a tribute to my mom. But Memoā is for anyone who believes presence doesn’t have to fade… and memory doesn’t have to be flat.

And today’s AI tools can help revive so much more, voices, images, videos, stories. Memoā highlights some of the most powerful tools available, and I’ll keep adding the best as this space evolves.

Inside Memento: The 3D Memory World When you enter Memento, you stay within the immersive 3D world, no traditional web pages, no scrolling, just pure exploration.

Three distinct symbols guide your experience:

Inside each profile, the memory space transforms:

You move freely in first-person, using keyboard or mouse. Floating 3D Memory Bubbles, each representing content:

Gallery Bubble for gallery for example: Opens a stunning 3D carousel where images are displayed as floating, interactive elements.

Memoā doesn’t just preserve memory, it redefines how we experience it. It’s legacy you can walk through. A space where presence never truly fades… and memory never has to be flat.

How I built it

This project was a solo mission but not entirely alone.

The vibe code part for Memoā is 100% with Bolt.new, It turned raw vision into working product. Alongside that, Gemini Ultra and GPT Plus became my AI teammates, direct suport, design, and mind maping every step of the way.

Core Tech Stack: Frontend: Built entirely in TypeScript with Next.js (React) and Tailwind CSS, clean, fast, responsive.

Backend: Powered by Supabase, with PostgreSQL at its core. Database logic, policies, triggers, functions, written in PLpgSQL.

3D Icons & Visual Assets: Designed using Imgur, then integrated directly in bolt code for Memoā.

I’ve shipped paid projects with Bolt before. This time, I pushed it to its limit, testing both the platform and myself to bring Memoā to life.

Challenges I ran into

Building Memoā wasn’t just technical, it was a mental marathon.

First, making my point and getting Bolt to understand me during Vibe Coding? Already hard on a regular 2D website. Now imagine doing it in a 3D immersive world. Let’s just say… I tested both the AI's patience and my own.

At times, Bolt got lost. At times, I got lost. There were dead ends, frustrating reversals, and moments where I nearly scrapped the whole thing. The project is large, and Bolt’s memory limitations especially for Vibe Coding, meant that hallucinations, overwrites, and confusion were part of the daily routine.

Also… credits? Burned like firewood in a snowstorm. No memory, no rollback, just me, Bolt, hallucinating prompts, and a rapidly shrinking credit balance.

But stubbornness is free. So I doubled down. No social media, no booze, no days off, one month, full focus, all in.

Technically, figuring out how to load and compress 3D models, get them positioned perfectly, align the camera angles, avoid visual bugs that wasn’t easy either. A lot of trial, error, and if I’m honest a little luck.

But that’s Vibe Coding. Messy, unpredictable… and when it works? Completely worth it. I would do it all over again, but i wont lie I'm happy this month is finally over 🙊.

Accomplishments that I'm proud

To have taken Memoā from raw idea to reality. And not just a static page, a living, moving, 3D space where stories, voices, and memories stay present.

I’m proud to have brought a brand new kind of web experience to the table. In all my digging, I haven’t seen anything quite like it. I hope it inspires others, gains traction, and shows people that the web don’t have to be flat.

Now their is one of the things I’m most proud of… is that I finally have a place to visit and share my mom's story. A little redemption after deleting her Facebook over a decade ago, her Memoā space is way better.

What I learned

I learned that in today’s world, trying to build a complex platform like Memoā completely solo is… borderline impossible to get perfect. But I tried. And honestly? I got close enough to be proud.

I learned that Bolt is powerful, seriously powerful but there’s still room to grow and i look forward to see this platform evolve and new feature being implemented.

Most of all, I learned that I can challenge myself, deliver, and keep building. Memoā is just the first step. I’m ready to keep shaping and hopefully influencing the digital world of tomorrow.

What's next for Memoā

From the start, Memoā was designed to grow across four key pillars, building not just a tribute platform… but a complete digital legacy ecosystem, here is the full vision, yet to be build.

1. Memorandum - Secure Your Eternal Archives The fourth module of Memoā, coming post-hackathon, is Memorandum: a private, encrypted digital vault for your most valuable digital assets. Think beyond memories, original music, personal photos, crypto keys, digital wills, all protected, private, and transferable on your terms. Future subscription tiers will support this feature.

2. Live Memento Spaces - Where Legacy Becomes Community Today’s Memento lets you explore memories in an interactive, 3D space. But the next evolution? Live, social Memento spaces , multi-room, real-time environments where users connect, talk, and experience legacies together.

And most importantly, I want Memento to be your space, truly personalized. Just like players build and customize in Minecraft, Memoā will allow users to modify backgrounds, insert their own 3D models, even AI-generate unique worlds. Your tribute space should reflect your creativity, no two Mementos should ever look the same.
