Memento
About the Project
Memento is designed to assist people living with dementia by helping them manage daily routines, remember important tasks, and maintain communication with family members. The project was inspired by the need to create a reliable and accessible tool that offers comfort and structure to both patients and caregivers.
Development
We built Memento as a simple, AI-assisted scheduling and reminder system. The platform includes a chatbot that learns user habits, a calendar for event scheduling, and a task manager for tracking progress. Family members can monitor activity and adjust reminders through a connected interface.
Challenges and Lessons
Our main challenges were balancing accessibility with simplicity, ensuring that users could easily navigate the interface while maintaining useful functionality. We also learned the importance of designing for reliability and adaptability when supporting memory-related needs.
Future Work
Next steps include adding multi-language support, more customization options, and developing a mobile version with some sort of wearable for proactive reminding in a more connected manner than push notifications
