My inspiration was the kurzgesagt video on your life in weeks. It's a simple graph that shows you how much of your life you've lived.

What it does

It is a simple desktop application that shows you a graph of your life in weeks if you were to live to 90 years old. The graph is automatically coloured for each week you have lived based on the date of birth you entered.

How we built it

This application started development in Golang using the Lorca library. It uses html, css and javascript for some of its front end styling. The final application is built with python and the eel library with frontend technologies for the design.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge that I ran into was building a distributable package that can be used on desktops with Golang. I was unable to get it to work during this Hackathon and so was forced to switch development to python to get a distributable package.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I was able to get a functioning desktop application that can be downloaded and installed. I am also proud that the Golang version of the application can still be built from the source code.

What we learned

I learned how to create desktop applications with Golang as well as improving my skill with Golang. I also learned how to use the snapchat developer kit.

What's next for Memento Mori

The following are future features for Memento More:

  • Multiple color schemes
  • Windows app package
  • Adding notes or saying per week for user
