Project Story

Inspiration

Gen Z vibes got us thinking: "What if we made a game that actually tests if you're terminally online?" 🤔 We wanted to separate the normies from the true internet veterans.

What it does

It's basically a "Are You Smarter Than a Gen Z?" quiz but make it spicy 🌶️

  • Fill in the blanks with correct meme words
  • 10 seconds per question (no time for Google, bestie)
  • Background music for that ~dramatic effect~
  • Get roasted based on your score 💀

How we built it

Tech Stack: React go brr 🚀

const techStack = {
  frontend: "React + TypeScript",
  styling: "Tailwind CSS",
  platform: "Reddit Devvit",
  fuel: "caffeine + existential dread"
}

Process: CodeDebugCryRepeat

Challenges we ran into

  1. Mobile viewport: "Why won't you fit?!" screaming at 3AM 📱
  2. Audio autoplay: Browsers said "no❤️" to our vibes
  3. Responsive design: Making it look good on everything from iPhone SE to gaming monitors
  4. Performance: Smooth animations without melting potato devices

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • [x] Actually finished a project (rare W 🏆)
  • [x] Made boomers confused and zoomers nostalgic
  • [x] Survived CSS hell and lived to tell the tale
  • [x] Created something that's unironically educational

What we learned

100dvh is your friend for mobile

  • Users will click everything except what you want them to
  • Reddit's platform is actually pretty neat
  • Never underestimate the power of good UX
/* Life lessons in CSS */
.developer {
  position: absolute;
  bottom: 0;
  sanity: none;
  coffee-level: maximum;
}

What's next for Meme Police Investigation - Prove Your Innocence!

Short term 🚀

  • More chaos: Harder questions, deeper cuts
  • Social features: Flex on your friends' low scores

Long term 🌟

  • User-generated content: Let the community cook 👨‍🍳
  • Leaderboards: Because we love competition
  • Maybe more memes integration? (Don't @ us, we're just thinking out loud)

"It's giving educational entertainment energy"

Built with 💜 and way too much internet culture knowledge
