Inspiration
When the crowd of hackers chuckled at the mentioning of Twitch chat it's fame of memes. I knew I had jump at this opportunity to create something that's both chuckle inducing for me and its users.
What it does
A Twitch chat bot that replies with the definition of memes whenever somebody say "meme check -insert meme-"
How I built it
I used Java to built this bot. More specifically, I used PircBot, a java framework for irc bots to build the basis of bot. To obtain information about the memes, I used Jsoup, a java library for webpage parsing.
Challenges I ran into
Challenge #1 The IP of the hackathon's wifi seem to be banned by Twitch, most likely due to the abundance of bots created by hackers alike, the combined message output by all the bots combined may have triggered a ban from Twitch.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Jumping onto a subject that I have no knowledge of and making something it.
