Inspiration
We wanted to build a platform that could truly help psychologists simplify their practice. My mother is a psychologist, and seeing her struggles managing patients, appointments, and billing inspired me to create a system that actually solves these problems.
What it does
Melon Mind is an all-in-one SaaS for mental health professionals. It allows psychologists to manage patients, schedule appointments, handle billing and invoicing, collect consent forms, and more — all from a clean and intuitive interface.
How we built it
We developed the project using PHP and JavaScript for the core logic, with a custom backend layered into Controllers, Services, DTOs, and Requests. The frontend was built in Vanilla JS with smooth UI/UX interactions. Payments and subscriptions are powered by Stripe, and the app is deployed as a PWA for multi-device use. Data security is ensured with encryption mechanisms.
Challenges we ran into
- Designing a seamless user experience that psychologists could understand without technical background.
- Handling complex features like invoice series, verification flows, and appointment duplication logic.
- Building trust in an international startup environment.

- Already adopted by 20+ paying psychologists.
- Built an international startup with a team across Spain and Mexico.

What’s next for Melon Mind
- Scaling to 100+ paying users.
- Expanding compliance features (e.g., VeriFactu in Spain).
- Building advanced analytics and integrations with external services.
