Inspiration
MeloMind was inspired by the idea that familiar experiences can help people living with dementia feel connected to their past and the things they love.
What it does
MeloMind helps caregivers create personalized experiences using music, movies, books, stories, and conversations based on individual interests and preferences.
How we built it
We used React, TypeScript, FastAPI, Python, and Supabase, integrating Qloo's taste-intelligence API to discover related content and personalize recommendations.
Challenges we ran into
Personalizing recommendations, finding relevant content, handling unavailable media, and adapting recommendations based on caregiver feedback were our main challenges.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We designed a platform that brings different forms of entertainment and reminiscence activities together in one personalized experience for dementia care.
What we learned
We learned how to integrate AI-powered recommendations with user preferences, caregiver feedback, and privacy-conscious data management.
What's next for MeloMind
We plan to improve personalization, expand language support, add more content sources, and make MeloMind more accessible for caregivers and people living with dementia.
