Inspiration

It was inspired by the all in one apps and websites that used to be popular a while ago.

What it does

  • Beat Maker: Allows users to create their own musical beats directly in the browser, using an interactive grid-based interface.
  • Playlist Generator: Helps users discover music tailored to their moods. You describe how you're feeling, and the app suggests curated playlists (using Spotify).
  • Video Editor: Provides basic video editing capabilities directly in the browser. Users can upload videos and perform actions like:
  • - Format Conversion: Change video file formats (to MP4).
  • - Codec Selection: Choose video codecs for compression and compatibility.
  • - Cropping: Cut out sections of the video frame.
  • - Trimming: Shorten the video by setting start and end times.
  • - Resolution Adjustment: Change the video dimensions.
  • - Frame Rate (FPS) Control: Adjust the video's frames per second.
  • Song Maker (Collaborative): Offers a unique, collaborative song creation experience. Users can join a queue, and when it's their turn, they contribute a word. The app then combines these words in some way, possibly to generate lyrics or a song title. Also has an ai summary.
  • Fanwall: Posts fans can make. Will be saved across devices.
  • Quote Generator: AI generates quotes to help bring up your mood. ## How we built it This was built by 2 people. One of us did the frontend and the other the backend. We used spring boot for the back end as well as ollama running phi4 for the ai text generation. The front end was made with pure, raw HTML/CSS/JS. The Spotify API was used for getting playlist. ## Challenges we ran into One of the biggest challenges we faced was integrating all the different functionalities seamlessly. We had the song maker, video editor, playlist generator, and fan wall, and getting them to work together without conflicts proved tricky. We also struggled a bit with responsive design, particularly making sure the layout looked. Finally, we underestimated the time it would take to polish the UI and synchronize the devices with songmaker on the backend.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're glad that we constructed a completely useful site inside the hackathon time. We effectively coordinate all the functions, and they all work! The tune producer, video editor, playlist generator, and fan wall are all operational. We indeed overseen to execute a fundamental queueing framework for the tune producer. We're too contented with the see and feel of the website; we think it captures the rockstar topic well, and the UI is for the most part natural. Getting the AI summary working with the Java backend was a huge win, as well.

What we learned

This hackathon was a tremendous learning encounter. We learned of working together as a group under pressure and how to divide the workload successfully. We got a much more profound understanding of front-end and back-end improvement. We learned the significance of careful arranging and breaking down huge errands into small, manageable parts. Working with the Java backend moreover uncovered us to a few unused challenges and best homes in back-end advancement and API integration. Most critically, we learned the esteem of clear communication and not being perplexed to inquire for help when we got stuck.

What's next for Melodyverse

Looking forward for more opportunities for collaboration to potentially grow this project into something even better!
