Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project was the fact that all three of us enjoyed listening to music.
What it does
It shows you the person who is the most compatible with you, both geographically and musically.
How we built it
We built it using Python to handle the core logic, HTML/CSS for the frontend, Flask and the Spotify API as our backend, and CockroachDB as our database system.
Challenges we ran into
We spent very much time trying to get CockroachDB to work with our project.

We got CockroachDB to work with our project.
What we learned
We learned many new technologies, including using the Spotify API and CockroachDB. Picking up these new frameworks was not easy to do, especially when put under a strict time limit. We learned how to quickly adapt to new situations and still produce something worthwhile and interesting.
What's next for Melodic Meet
As for our next steps, we want to continue adding more features to the project, such as comparing the top genres of two listeners.
