About the Project Inspiration

MellowTech was inspired by the growing need for smarter, AI-driven cybersecurity solutions. Businesses today face increasingly sophisticated attacks, yet many still rely on outdated or reactive tools. We wanted to create a platform where artificial intelligence proactively detects and responds to threats in real time, giving companies the confidence to operate securely in a digital-first world.

What We Learned

We learned how powerful AI can be when applied to cybersecurity — especially in analyzing anomalies, predicting attacks, and automating responses. We also discovered that building trust requires more than detection: clear reporting, transparency, and efficient handling of incidents are just as important for real-world adoption.

How We Built It

We built MellowTech’s prototype using machine learning models to analyze simulated network data and identify suspicious behavior. The backend connects these AI models to a secure dashboard where users receive real-time alerts and incident reports. We designed the frontend in React for accessibility and ease of use, while the backend in Node.js handles AI integration, API calls, and data management.

Challenges We Faced

A major challenge was reducing false positives while maintaining high accuracy in threat detection. We also faced the difficulty of making the AI engine run efficiently enough to provide real-time results. Another challenge was ensuring that the platform remains scalable for different business sizes, from small startups to larger enterprises, while still being user-friendly for non-technical teams.
