With 1 in 5 people developing melanoma in their lifetimes, skin cancer is one of the most common cancers. Yet, there is no easy way to track and monitor its progression, especially in response to treatment.
What it does
Using computer vision, our app easily records and graphs the surface area of melanoma on a user's skin. Simply use a nickel as a reference point and our app can figure the rest out.
Challenges we ran into
At one point we rewrote the computer vision function using Python from Matlab but didn't even use it.
