Inspiration

Back in september, I went to Mumbai for a one-month project. being new to the city I want to explore, make friends, and chill. during this time of the year, very popular 'Garwa' events were happening everywhere. eager to attend, but I don't know how to get passes. so, I realize if there exists a platform to host events near me.

What it does

"Mehphil" - means "gathering to entertain". Mehphil offers a powerful solution to find online and live events, webinars, training, and sports events. Mehphil has everything you need to chill, learn and spend quality time with your friends and family.

How we built it

Mehphil is divided into three parts - frontend, backend, and smart contract

Frontend The frontend was built using Next js and using Arcana wallet for the web-based wallet to make easy on-boarding of web2 users into web3.

Smart contract Created an ERC721 contract for NFT ticket.

Backend The backend was built with express and we were using jwt token for authentication.

Challenges we ran into

• The most challenging part was to make sure that the platform should be a blockchain platform but users should not feel uncomfortable while creating an event or booking an event with friends.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a well-coordinated team with a clear vision for the project development. While booking, users can book using a Gmail login, and their wallet is integrated easily, without any hassle with the private and public keys.

What we learned

-> we learned how to write, test, compile, and call Near AssemblyScript. -> we learned 'N' number of things about design, flow, user experience, and collaborating remotely.

What's next for Mehphil

-> Add other functionalities like filters according to the type of event, and city-wise filters. -> improve the UI/UX -> Bring customers and try to onboard event companies.
