Inspiration

My inspiration to create the game was my experience as a gamer when I played Mario. I used those experiences to generate a similar atmosphere and nostalgia that I get from playing Mario today.

What it does

It is a 2-Dimensional runner game with a basic mission: to gain points by killing or escaping monsters incoming by shooting or jumping.

How we built it

I built it using unity. The game does employ the use of community assets, which aided the game to look so visually stunning but aside from that it is a fully independently developed unity game.

Challenges we ran into

I ran into challenges when I tried to incorporate sound into the game. I am not the best when it comes to engineering and editing sound in unity, even though it is thought to be a rather easy task.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of creating such a visually beautiful game and that I was able to generate a similar experience of playing other legendary running games. My little brother played the game and the joy on his face was enough for me to be proud of what I have created.

What we learned

I learned how to create a 2D runner game. I have previously created swimming and boxing games, but this was my sincere attempt at creating a running game.

What's next for Megarunrainman

I am planning on publishing the game on app store in its mobile version, and integrate better sound effects.
